On Saturday, March 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Safe Kids Coalition of Maricopa County and Zachar Law Firm will conduct a free “bicycle rodeo” at Cardon Children’s Medical Center, 1400 S. Southern Avenue near Dobson Road in Mesa. Youth from ages 3 to 16 can bring their bikes and scooters to practice and learn safety skills in a secure environment, while celebrating an early kickoff to April’s “Valley Bike Month”.
The “rodeo” is a fun bicycle skills event that provides an opportunity for bicyclists to practice and develop skills that will help them to avoid typical accidents and become safer bicyclists. Youth can attend the event and learn important safety skills--even if they do not have a bike available.
Free bicycle helmets will be fitted to the first 300 youth, and raffle drawings will be held for bicycles and bike locks.
