Police say a young boy died in a head-on auto accident Monday morning near a Phoenix school.
The crash happened just before 8 a.m. near 37th Avenue and Elm Street, just south of Camelback Road.
A white passenger car and a blue pickup truck involved in the crash near Alhambra High School.
Crump said the white car was trying to pass a vehicle when it collided with the pickup truck.
Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump said the boy who died was about 5 years old and was in the white passenger car.
The boy and two young adults in the vehicle were unrestrained, Crump said.
He said the two adults in the white passenger car were taken to the hospital with very serious injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck appears to be OK, Crump said. He was reportedly wearing a seatbelt.
What a waste, and what an incredible shame. Someone in a hurry. Near a school. No seatbelts, and a life lost.
While our hearts certainly go out to everyone involved, we cannot help but consider the tremendous mistake that was made here, and that many people on both sides of the aisle will be paying for this emotionally for the remainder of their lives.
Liability?? Seems little question about it. Who can make the claim? This one will get a bit complicated.
