A Valley Metro bus driver has been removed from his position while he is investigated for texting and driving in Phoenix, Arizona.
A passenger recorded the driver he drove east on Baseline Road from 75th Avenue to Rural and Baseline. "He was no way in control of the bus," said the passenger.
The passenger tried to complain to Valley Metro but didn't get anywhere. He then called the media.
The employer sent a statement saying the driver has been identified and has been removed from service as an internal investigation is being conducted.
It goes on to say their policy of prohibiting cell phone use is clear and a violation of it grounds for dismissal. Folks, this is getting to dangerous epidemic levels.
When is the State of Arizona empower law enforcement to stop these dangerous drivers?
When will a law pass to prohibit texting and driving?
For how many families will it be too late?
Texting and Driving is not only an epidemic in Arizona, but across the nation. We need to make sure we stay safe and alert when we are on the road, and drive safe!
