In general, Uber and Lyft rideshares are safe but only as safe as the individual drivers themselves. Unfortunately, accidents do happen. The new self-driving or “driverless” vehicles are being used by some Uber and Lyft drivers.
They are only being tested and, as the recent horrific news reported, self-driving or driverless vehicles are still experimental and can result in tragedy. Riders should remain vigilant and make certain the Uber or Lyft driver is driving safely. If not, you must speak up or ask to be transferred to another rideshare!
If you are in an accident involving an Uber or Lyft vehicle and are injured, you should seek the legal advice of a personal injury attorney immediately to learn your rights against Uber, Lyft and/or the driver.
Even if the Uber or Lyft driver was not at fault for the collision and you were injured, you should still speak with a qualified personal injury attorney.
