Getting ready to hit the road this holiday weekend?
The Arizona Department of Transportation is warning Valley drivers to be extra cautious, as the Labor Day holiday brings serious driving dangers.
According to ADOT, 11 people died in crashes on state highways and local roads over the Labor Day weekend last year. In the past five years, 72 people have been killed in 55 fatal accidents.
In addition to buckling up and avoiding drinking and driving, motorists are urged to obey speed limits and to remain patient while out on the road.
Before starting out on a trip, drivers are encouraged to check highway conditions at ADOT's website or by calling 5-1-1
Although Labor Day can be a fun, relaxing way to say goodbye to summer and hello to fall, it can be dangerous if proper safety measures aren't followed.
That’s all. Have a great holiday weekend!!!
