Westbound lanes are now reopened after separate crashes left two people dead on the U.S. 60 near Tomahawk Road in Apache Junction on Wednesday morning.
The crashes, which happened at about 5:30 a.m., involved two separate wrecks about 100 yards apart. One wreck was a two-vehicle collision that left one person dead. Another wreck also left a person dead, but there were few details on that crash.
Video from a television news helicopter shows a pickup truck with a motorcycle wedged under its front end and a second accident about a quarter of a mile up the road. Westbound lanes were closed for much of the morning.
After seeing this article, a client called and asked his Q:
Assume Accident No. 1 happens as a result of Driver X's negligence. Then, while rubbernecking at Accident No. 1, Driver Y causes Accident No. 2. Is Driver X liable for BOTH?
