A statewide crackdown on drunken drivers in Arizona during the holiday season is set to begin on Dec. 3.
Governor's Office of Highway Safety director Alberto Gutier says more than 70 police agencies in the state will take part in the special patrols.
Some agencies participating in the crackdown are planning on getting an early start by launching their patrols late this week.
The statewide crackdown is scheduled to end on Jan. 1.
It always amazes me how many people are arrested in these sting operations. Really? People have not yet figured out that drinking and driving don’t mix?
Let’s hope and pray that the injuries and deaths that occur from the actions of these drunken idiots is minimal this holiday season. No doubt, it will happen. The danger of drinking and driving is too extreme. With thousands of violators, it is just too much to realistically ask that no accidents occur.
Please be safe everyone.
