A 2-year-old child was in critical condition Friday afternoon after being pulled from a pool near 40th Street and Brown Road in Mesa, according to Mesa fire officials.
Mesa police officers say the boy made his way into the backyard where there is a pool with a cover and no fence. The child was with a group of older children when they lost track of him and he slipped out of the mother's sight for 10 to 15 minutes.
Mesa police and fire officials said they performed CPR on the child, and he regained consciousness before being taken to Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa.
