Did You Know: For car accidents, July 4th is the deadliest day of the year?
Both drunk drivers and distracted drivers play a HUGE role a spike in auto accidents on the 4th of July. What does this mean for you?
It's simple: Make sure you are driving safe, smart and alert during this holiday weekend. Here are a few tips to keep you safe on the road:
- Put your phone down. Driving distracted is becoming an epidemic nationwide. (Note: In Arizona, there is still no law in regards to texting while driving. This does not make it OK.)
- Don't drink and drive. This has been repeated time and time again. Drinking and driving contributes to thousands of deaths a year. There is absolutely no reason for this to still be happening. Just plain S-T-U-P-I-D.
- Stay alert. Many people will be celebrating the holiday late into the night. Please make sure you are able to drive when its time to leave.
If you are tired or feel drowsy, don't take a chance behind the wheel. Stay where you are or have someone who is capable drive you home.
If not, consider a taxi or Uber.
These tips might seem simple, yet millions of Americans break these simple rules every year and cause horrific accidents.
Don't be another statistic. Drive smart and be safe out there this 4th of July holiday.
